I've only seen "Rent" once, a high school production about 13 years ago. It was surprisingly good for a high school production, and I knew at least one of the kids in the play had recently "come out." That was a pretty brave decision in a West Virginia high school that long ago! So that biased me in favor of giving a kind (internal) review of the play. I do remember the kids sang loudly enough for me to be able to hear them and enunciated well enough for me to understand what they were singing. That hadn't always been the case in this high school's theatre productions.
